I
call on the Light of Isis
and the power of Isis to protect me and mine; from all things
of darkness, from all manner of unjust attack. Those who mean
me harm, you shall not pass this barrier!
All mighty one bring me the milk of set,
the flood of Nebt-Het
(Queen of the Night), the overspill of the lake, the surge of
the sea, life, prosperity, health, happiness, bread, beer...
Kemet
The
ancient Egyptians
gave their country the name "Kemet" ("km.t"
in transliteration), which is translated by most Egyptologists
as the black land, the strip of land made fertile
by the black silt deposited by the annual rising of the Nile,
which was the basis of both agriculture and transportation in
ancient Egypt. However, Afrocentrists,
who defend the theory of an African origin of Egyptian civilization,
theorize that "kmt" has another meaning, namely the
land of the Blacks.
