died when he was about 18,having ruled for nine years, and so is often
called the
Boy King. In this portrait; he is depicted as a gloomy and out
of time soul, a man with out a future, a candle in storm, staring
in to oblivion as if he is aware of his destiny and what ever that
will become of him, waiting for the curtains to fall. |
